When you do decide to share your secret, unanticipated situations might occur that could catch you off guard. One person might reveal something that frightens you; someone else might be so blunt that you’re unprepared to hear not only what’s being said, but also slow it’s being said. If and when that happens, it’s important to admit that you’re surprised or a little scared; you can then use that honesty as an opportunity to launch into a deeply felt, sincere discussion.
Almost all digital cameras come with an electronic flash that is built into the camera body and is triggered by the shutter release button. The flash is programmed to fire automatically when the light sensors indicate that available light is insufficient for a good exposure. You can also manually force it to fire or suppress it. The flash is a strobe-type light and can be fired again and again as long as your camera has enough power. To achieve an appropriate level of exposure, the camera has to build up to a prescribed voltage. This eats battery power and forces you to wait while the charge is being renewed before you can take the next shot. A light indicator near the eyepiece tells you when the flash has power and is ready to fire again. If you are planning to use your flash a lot, it’s wise to have extra batteries or an external battery pack, or be connected to an AC adapter that’s plugged in. If it’s the only light source, the built-in flash is better than nothing and at least you’ll be able to get the picturebut the direction of the flash’s light can’t be controlled by the photographer, and it usually produces unflattering shadows and over bright highlights. Flash has limited range and cannot get you a reasonable exposure of anything much farther away than 10 to 12 feet. The cure is easy and can cost you less than $100: Buy an automatic external flash that is brighter than the internal flash.
