The area between Huedin and Cluj is known to Hungarians as Kalotaszeg. It's quite remarkable of geographical, historical and mainly ethnographic point of view. This is a particular place where authentic Hungarian culture has survived uncorrupted. This zone includes 40 villages. The popular tradition is still alive here, and the population is still wearing its wonderful folk costumes. The local embroidery is particularly famous.
