Today we are going to talk to you, the RV-er the one driving down the road in your big rig about RV Internet access. Because you want to connect to the Internet, you need to connect to the Internet, but sometimes it’s hard to figure out how to connect to the Internet. Well we are going to make it easy for you.
We have some products like the Verizon MiFi 2200 that we sell. What is this? This is your own mobile Hotspot! So instead of driving to a campground and trying to figure out how to log on to the WiFi system, which may or may not be free, and it may or may not have a good signal; now you can have your own. This is something that can travel with you wherever you go.
So, now whether you are driving down the road or whether you are in a park anywhere, the MiFi 2200 will connect to the Internet. Not only will it connect one computer, it will connect up to five computers. Certainly most RV-ers are not going to have more than five people with five laptops in one RV or motor home. So, this would work for most RV-ers.
Now there are a couple of downsides to this that some other products address. For example, there is no where to plug in an antenna anywhere on here. So you are pretty much left with the service that the MiFi gets itself, unlike our USB modems which you can add an antenna to. You can use a wireless amplifier with a MiFi 2200, but then you are looking at a minimum cost of probably $250. On the other hand, you can get an antenna for a USB modem for around $50.
So that is a limitation, but besides that, this is a fantastic device that you can take anywhere you go, connect easily and about forget hoping and wishing for campground WiFi.
Anyway, if this raised more questions than it has answered, please give us a call. We answer questions from RV-ers all over the country, all day long, everyday.
