This site provides an historical overview of theoretical engagements with the work of Marshall McLuhan from 1981 to the present. Rather than aiming to be comprehensive, it seeks to track specific patterns of engagement in areas such as the body/sensorium/affect; globality/locality; mediation/immediation; visuality/avisuality/audility; and so on. Excerpts from key works are provided to substantiate these patterns and to facilitate further research.
