This year, GVEA celebrates 60 years of service to nearly 90,000 Interior residents in the Fairbanks, Delta, Nenana, Healy and Cantwell areas to over 41,160 service locations. In temperatures that often reach 50 degrees below zero, GVEA operates and maintains 2,826 miles of transmission and distribution lines and 35 substations and their system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and all electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt which extends from Homer, Alaska to Fairbanks. "We believe that the implementation of Cyco AutoManager Meridian will allow us to reduce time spent searching for documentation, increase operational efficiency, and help reduce operating costs, which will allow us to better stabilize costs for the residents we serve," says Tim DeVries, Manager of Engineering Services at GVEA
