and i am going to answer the FAQ's that I have been getting from everyone around.
FAQ1why have you not updated your blog for sometime??ok here i apologise. but there is just so much that i am taking in walking around the city.. getting to know work.. understanding how technology works and using it!!so please pardon me, but i have not been lazy and come on its only been a week you cant expect an update so soon.
FAQ2Oh my god!! you use technology?Yes i use technology and trust me i never ever knew tecnology could make a country move the way singapore moves. ok to articulate the above example.I have 2 computer sensitive cards for now, they actually called contactless stored information cards.Contactless stored information card A: My MRT (mass rapid transit, basically train system) and and LRT (the bus system)card. this is a card which i use for all the public transport system which is extremelly extremelly effecient and convenient. I tap these contactless cards agains sensitive machines as i enter the MRT station/Bus and then tap it again when i exit thereby paying for my trip. i just read how the card works so i know!! and believe me, here when they say an MRT is crowded its like a train ride in mumbai on a sunday morning, a few people standing!!Contactless stored information card B: My DHL entry card, now this i guess is normal with all huge ass companies where people flash cards to get in and out of the office.. needed even to exit on the way to the loo.(which means when forgotten u have to go back and get it before you get to the loo)and to add to technology you press a button for the light to change to cross the road!!
FAQ3Pani you absent minded person how do you follow the rules?He heh heh.. this is a cool answer cause i follow the rules better than the singaporeans. yesterday i saw a sign that said no cycles here and someone had locked their cycle on to that very same sign post. so ha. people jay walk as well so ha ha. but i dont do any of that. i follow the rules!!!
FAQ 4Pani and the weather??oh its just awesome except that i sit in an artificial lit office with the aircon on some crazy ass temparature which means that its cold but the weather is beautiful here, not too hot and there are some cool thunderstorms with cool lightning and all the works. only one kind soul warned me of the thundershowers and i thank him cause its an experience!!
FAQ 4What is it do you do at DHL?Ok well now my job role, DHL which is under the umbrella of DPWN a german company is big initself and one of the services that DHL provides is logistics and supply chain. Since logistics and supply chain management was not one of DHL's strong hold, DHL aquired the british based exel and now are integrating the two companies. My job role is to integrate these two companies communicating within the company the dvelopments in the integartion process and passing on a positive note to all people concerned.
